The former president of the United States, Barack Obama , has taken advantage of a political rally by the Democratic Party in Las Vegas, Nevada, to pay homage with some beautiful words to the Colombian singer, J Balvin, who had come as a guest at the campaign event to entertain him musically with his voice.
Balvin occupied the congressional stage during the minutes before Obama’s speech , who before speaking about the importance of the upcoming US elections, addressed the iconic artist publicly: “Who does not love J Balvin and reggaeton?” .
The youngest members of the audience joined in an ovation to Balvin after the words of the former political leader. He also added that in the dressing rooms, where the cameras do not arrive, he had been improvising with the background hit.
The performance of the Colombian artist put on foot the audience with the hit single ‘Mi gente’ , a song that ranked first on the list of the 21 favorite songs that the twice president published on the last day of the year 2017 from the White House . The aforementioned playlist was published by Obama in his Facebook account and today has been shared by more than 138,000 users .
The video of the viral moment has been shared by Balvin in his official Instagram account and, in less than 24 hours, has reached almost 1.3 million views.
