The images show how the flames consume the three-story building.

Several firefighters battled a fire that was reported Wednesday morning at the Ferguson Apartments complex in Dallas.

According to the authorities, the three-story building is located between Ferguson Road and Highway 635.

During the fire, one firefighter resulted with second degree injuries while two people were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. In the same way, the American Red Cross is helping affected people, since 24 homes were destroyed, but only 18 of them were rented.

The images captured by the Telemundo 39 helicopter showed how the flames were coming out of the roof of the affected building while some residents had no choice but to jump from their apartments.

The neighbors even put mattresses for those who jumped from the second and third floors.

When the firemen arrived, all the people had already left their homes, but what is causing the fire is still being investigated.
