The authorities found three boxes not refrigerated with the remains of 36 bodies of babies.
In the city of Detroit, USA, authorities are investigating another funeral home where remains of newborn babies and aborted fetuses were discovered.
According to the local press , three uncooled boxes with 36 babies’ bodies were found in the Perry Funeral Home. Apart from this finding, they discovered a freezer with an unknown number of bodies. It is specified that some dates of death date back to 2015.
It was discovered that the funeral home did not certify or file death certificates for the bodies within 72 hours after death. Also, the establishment supposedly embalmed the bodies of the babies without any relative having given them the corresponding permission.
The local police has launched an investigation into criminal behavior. They also suspended the licenses of both the Perry Funeral Home and its director Gary Deak, due to “heinous conditions and negligent behavior.”
The Detroit Police had already launched a criminal investigation into the Cantrell Funeral Home , where since its closure in April a total of 38 bodies have been found, many of them thanks to repeated anonymous denunciations. Among them, there are 11 corpses of children, discovered in a false ceiling of the funeral home between the first and second floors.
“I hope the situation between these two funeral homes is isolated, but I can not say for sure,” the city’s police chief, James Craig , told the media .
