Barack Obama is supposed to arrive in Porto mid-day, in time to make his speech between 3 pm and 4 pm at the Climate Change Leadership Porto Summit 2018.
With great security restrictions, the nearly 2200 guests of the Climate Change Leadership Porto Summit 2018 in Porto began entering the Porto Coliseum. The presence of Barack Obama, former President of the United States, is the reason for so many constraints, which go beyond the building of the Coliseum and are visible abroad.
Passos Manuel street is cut between Praça dos Poveiros and Sá da Bandeira street, with several elements of the PSP preventing traffic. Even the pedestrians can not walk on the promenade next to the Colosseum building.
The guests received the recommendation to arrive early, to do the credential, and at 8am there was already intense movement in the place.
The initiative is a joint effort of public and private entities: Taylor’s (The Fladgate Partnership), Porto Municipality, Vine and Wine Institute, Porto Commercial Association, The American College in Spain and also Advanced Leadership Foundation.
In addition to Barack Obama, the meeting will also include speakers Mohan Munasinghe, former vice president of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), Irina Bokova, former director-general of UNESCO and Juan Verde, president of the Advanced Leadership Foundation , based in the city of Washington, USA.
