UPDATE: Ross Stripling on the 10-day Disabled List (DL) with low back inflammation
Starter Ross Stripling pitched just over six innings and the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the San Francisco Giants 3-2.
Stripling (6-1) worked six innings and a third, accepted four hits, home runs and two runs to credit the Dodgers’ triumph.
On the drums, Puerto Rican Ranger Enrique Hernandez (9) hit a full return drive in the first inning, chasing starter Derek Holland’s shipments, with no teammates ahead, when there was one out in the inning.
For the Giants, first baseman Pablo Sandoval (5) sent the ball into the street in the seventh inning leading a runner ahead of Stripling’s pitches.
The loss was carried by Holland (4-7) in five episodes, accepting five hits, two homers and three runs.
