One way to burn more carbohydrates and speed up your metabolism is to have breakfast before exercising.
At breakfast before exercising you can burn more carbohydrates according to research from the University of Bath in the UK, because they discovered that in addition to this, it also increased the speed with which the body digested and metabolized food.
It is worth mentioning that the scientists of the Department of Health of the University, in collaboration with colleagues from the universities of Birmingham, Newcastle and Stirling, were studying the effect of having breakfast before fasting during the night before practicing one hour of cycling.
According to a test of control, the volunteers ate a breakfast of porridge made with milk two hours before the exercise. After exercise or rest, the researchers checked the blood glucose and muscle glycogen levels of the 12 healthy male volunteers who participated.
They discovered that breakfast increased the speed at which the body burned carbohydrates during exercise , as well as increasing the speed with which the body digested and metabolized the food that was ingested after exercise.
It should be mentioned that this is the first study that examines the ways in which breakfast before exercise influences our responses to meals after exercise .
Doctoral student at the Department of Health, Rob Edinburgh, who co-directed the study, explains that it has been discovered that breakfast before exercise increases the burning of carbohydrates during exercise, and that this carbohydrate does not come only from breakfast that ends of eating, also of carbohydrates stored in our muscles as glycogen, according to ABC.
